Let Us See the Real You

November 5, 2012

For Halloween, we wear masks to disguise ourselves and to fool others.  Many wear masks everyday by living the lie of not being true to themselves. This mask is not one where someone says, “Oh you are pretending to be  (character).” It is an invisible mask behind which you hide your soul’s true characteristics and desires. Pretending to be something you are not leads to identity loss, heartache, and unhappiness.

When I first started doing energy healing, I was hesitant to announce that I did what many considered to be “Woo Woo” stuff. Then I realized that I could not expect others to be accepting of what I did if I was not willing to step forward and present my true self. Sure, there were individuals who dismissed me, but this is more a reflection of who they are rather than a reflection of who I am. I have found that the more I express my true self, the more people are accepting of me and my work.

Growing up, many are discouraged from expressing themselves.  They are told “Be polite!” or “Speak only when spoken to!”  This has given many the impressions that expressing themselves is not acceptable.  Step out of that box that you have been put in and find your true voice.

I know many feel the need to hide their true selves. They fear rejection, ridicule, or feel they are not good enough to be loved for who they are. Try this. Think about what is the worst thing that could happen if you let people see who you really are. Determine how you would handle that scenario, keeping in mind that, thankfully, many of your fears never materialize.

When you are being true to yourself, you are not afraid to be yourself. You become a person of integrity which is a much respected character trait, desirable in all people we encounter. Let the world see you for who you truly are. You’ll find wonderful people are drawn to you and comfortable in your presence.

When you search inside your heart for your true self, you’ll know what truly makes you feel fulfilled and happy.  Don’t be afraid to express your wants, needs and desires.  Remember a big part of manifesting is expressing to the Universe what you desire.

Put your masks away and get rid of that poker face!  When you follow your heart and your conscience, fears disappear so that happiness with yourself and others begins to unfold.
