Decisions, Decisions
October 4, 2013
Helping my mother-in-law move, made me aware of how often we are making decisions on a day when we are in the process of moving. Everything we touch requires a decision to keep or not to keep and where to put the item. It made me realize how many decisions each of us make in a normal day.
You choose when to get up in the morning; whether or not to shower; what you will wear for the day; what you consume at breakfast time; what schedule you will work on for the day; whether to answer that ringing phone; what route to take to get to work or to run errands; whether or not it is time to make a call to someone; how you will react to family and friends this day; what programs to watch on TV; etc., and these are only a few of your daily choices.
Many of your decisions are not life-altering but some may be. For example, you may have an opportunity for a job or a new client that is missed if, for your appointment, you do not allow enough driving time or you choose the wrong route to take, or you misjudge the timing of a light or the speed of an oncoming car as you are turning. Each of these can leave you with some serious life-changing results.
So you see that your choices throughout your day not only affect you moment by moment but also long term. The question to ask is did you prepare yourself so that you will be calm, focused and able to consider all your options for each decision?
If you choose to do a Grounding and Brain Balancing exercise as you start your day, then you will have less stress and will be able to access the way each side of your brain processes information to assist you with your decision-making. Deciding to do these exercises will help you look at all that comes your way more objectively and less emotionally so that you will naturally make better decisions.
Grounding connects your energy to the earth and so that you run your stress off into the ground and take in energy to open your chakra energy centers to support each of your organs and glands including your decision-making brain. I think we would all agree that it is much better to do your decision-making when you are not ruled by stress and are able to focus clearly on the issues at hand.
Balancing the brain enables the two sides of your brain to work together. Each half of your brain does not process information in the same way. Making decisions from a balanced brain combines the conscious and subconscious, knowledge and wisdom, seeing the whole and the parts of an issue, your masculine and feminine side, your rational and intuitive abilities, thinking and feeling, etc.
From personal experience, I can assure you that doing a Grounding and Brain Balancing exercise brings greater peace and focus to your decision-making. Try adding these exercises to your morning practice for a week so you can feel how it enhances your ability to choose what is best for you both short and long term. Once you start, you will want to make them a part of your daily routine.
