Healing Message from “The Princess and the Pea”

September 29, 2014

I feel that in the story of “The Princess and the Pea” there is something that relates to unhealed issues that are affecting your peace and happiness. For those unfamiliar with the story: a Prince wanted to marry a true Princess but was unable to find one. During a rainstorm one night, a woman showed up at the castle claiming to be a Princess. Arriving rather bedraggled looking, the Queen decided to test the woman by placing a pea in the bed where the woman was to sleep to see how sensitive she was. The theory being that only a true Princess would be sensitive. The pea was buried under 20 mattresses and 20 eider-down beds. The next morning the Queen asked how the young woman slept. She recounted that she had not slept well due to something hard in her bed. Thus they were able to say that she was a true Princess because she was so sensitive.

For purposes here let’s ignore the fact that the Queen made a judgment based on appearances, and that by telling the truth, the Princess allowed her true sensitive self to come through.

Let us say that for us the “pea” could represent a core issue that a person may have buried under many layers thinking that the problem can be ignored. The Princess let us know that a hard thing, no matter how deeply buried, may continue to be an issue affecting peace and comfort. To get rid of the problem, it is necessary to first remove the layers covering it, and then resolve the issue itself before finally eliminating completely the negative energy attached to it.

It is amazing that such a small thing created a problem for the Princess. With many layers on top of it, the problem still did not go away. Here you can see that taking care of small issues as they come up is important for your comfort. Frequent energy healing sessions keep layers from building up.

When doing energy healing, we speak of things being in layers that need to be removed in order to get to the core issues. For example, if someone was abandoned as a child, they may worry that they will be abandoned again and therefore, go into relationships expecting to be abandoned. Thus their thoughts, affected by their buried subconscious “pea,” are creating their reality of continued abandonment. Or perhaps subconsciously the individual holds back on fully committing to a relationship and thus the relationship is ruined and therefore the possible future partner leaves. Each time a relationship ends, they would feel abandoned and build up another layer.

Another example could be a betrayal by a friend or family member. The betrayal may cause the person to mistrust everyone and the perception of life is that every encounter is another opportunity to be betrayed. Until one uncovers the core issue the problem continues to color life in a negative manner thus building up more layers.

It is not always easy to face buried issues that may be bothering us. Therefore, one of the tasks of the energy healer is to make the client feel comfortable enough to look at issues that are causing problems and release the negative energy being held on the issue. Total resolution is not always accomplished in one session since layers, which in the story are mattresses, are burying the core issue needing to be addressed. This takes less time than one would think. I have helped many of my clients free themselves from annoying core issues.

What core issue could you have buried under many layers? Let’s work together with an Intuitive Energy Healing Session to start removing the layers so you can have a more peaceful life.
