How to Thrive in 2012 and Beyond
June 16, 2012Sometimes we just don’t feel well. It may be that the yucky feelings that you are experiencing are related to shifts in the body as a result of the shifts taking place on the planet in this year of 2012. Some may refer to this as the “ascension process.” There are many things that you can do to improve your comfort and health in body, mind, and spirit through these challenging times.
Ground and Brain Balance daily. Those who know me well remember how much I emphasize the importance of grounding and brain balancing. These two simple acts can help you release stress and help your decision-making to be more objective and less emotional. These exercises help you to maintain your balance when facing challenges that may come your way throughout your day. Learn how to ground and brain balance at: http://www.youtube.com/alterra1
Get plenty of rest and practice self-care. Often you may be pushing yourself and not listening to your body when it tries to tell you that additional rest is needed. When you are experiencing a lot of change, perhaps you should go to bed early. Additional rest may be saving your nervous system from increased stress and challenges to proper functioning. We all like a little pampering now and then, but if you aren’t getting it, then ask for help or make sure you take time for self-care.
Drink lots of Water. Drinking plenty of water helps to flush toxins from your system. It is always best to put a few drops of lemon in your drinking water to help keep your acid pH levels in balance to help keep disease at bay. Soaking in a hot bath with baking soda and sea salt for 20 minutes will help you relax, release toxins, clear the emotional body of heavy energies and will ultimately cleanse and revitalize you. In addition, try to spend some relaxing time near a body of water, such as a stream, a pond, a lake, or the ocean.
Spend time in nature and out in the sunshine. Spending time in nature is much more soothing for your nervous system than the chaos of traffic or industrial noises. Being in nature encourages you get in touch with your inner guidance. In addition, research shows that people who spend time in nature are “more caring.” Researchers at the University of Rochester found that the more you are out in nature, the more you become compassionate and willing to share from the heart with others.
Your body needs the Vitamin D that is easily absorbed by spending 15 minutes per day in the sunshine. Summer is a great time to store up enough Vitamin D to meet your body’s needs for the rest of the year according to Dr. Michael Holick, a leading expert on Vitamin D from Boston University. The benefits of Vitamin D include better bone health, and improved immune system functioning so that you are helped with issues like colon cancer, inflammation, multiple sclerosis, seasonal disorders and depression. Older people would have fewer falls since Vitamin D helps regulate muscles and balance.
Keep your thoughts positive. You can visualize your thoughts as the rings that occur after throwing a pebble in a pond. Those rings go out and out. Your thoughts either positive or negative, go out from you and affect everyone you meet. I think you would agree that It is always more pleasant to have people around you feeling positive from the thoughts that you are sending out. It is also best to have positive thoughts going out to help manifest only the best for you. Please, remember to love yourself and share love with all around you for we are on this journey together.
Find a practice and/or practitioner to give you personal support. Many have found that their lives improve after beginning a practice such as meditation, Qi gong, yoga, exercise, dance, etc. In the healing arena, we believe that “the issue is in the tissue” and thus movement exercises help the body to release emotional issues that may be stored in your body’s tissues. If you are not a fan of movement activities, then I would recommend regular sessions with an energy healer like myself to help you release your emotional baggage so that you can move forward with greater health in body, mind, and spirit and thus thrive in 2012 and beyond.
